Schengen Visa

Please be advised that as of April the waiting period for obtaining a visa appointment will increase due to the expected summer rush. For those of you who have plans to visit the Netherlands during the summer we therefore strongly recommend applying for your visa on time.

The waiting time for an appointment for the registration of a visa application is currently four weeks.

As of 1 January 2010 all applications from people residing in Pakistan and in Afghanistan have to be submitted to the Netherlands Embassy in Islamabad.

Where to apply?

All residents in the United Arab Emirates, who are planning to travel to the Netherlands, should submit their visa appointment form through this website at the Netherlands Consulate-General in Dubai. Every applicant has to apply in person. Incomplete applications cannot be registered. We advise every applicant to read the requirements before the apply for the Schengen visa.

UAE nationals, residing in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, can apply at the Netherlands Embassy in Abu Dhabi. UAE nationals who have queries regarding visa matters, can contact the Abu Dhabi visa line daily between 13:30 -14:30 on 02-695 8080.

How to apply for a Schengen Visa at the Consulate-General in Dubai?

Visa applicants have to make an appointment in order to submit their visa application. We strongly recommend that you schedule your appointment several weeks in advance of any planned travel. According to the Schengen regulations, the processing time of the visa application after the interview will take 4 working days and up to 2 weeks depending on the nationality. Please complete the visa appointment form in order to schedule an appointment.

 

If you intend to visit only one of the Schengen countries, you must apply for a visa at the Embassy or the Consulate (-General) of that country. If you plan to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply for the Schengen visa at the Embassy or Consulate (-General) of the country which will be your main destination. In case you visit each Schengen country for the same number of days, then you have to apply at the Embassy or Consulate (-General) of the Schengen country which will be the first point of entry.

 

The Orange Carpet Visa Facility

Companies and organizations in the United Arab Emirates,

1.   being a daughter or sister of a Dutch company or organization,

2.   or being a parent of a company or organization in the Netherlands,

and with a minimum of 10 employees who need to travel frequently to the Netherlands for business purposes, can sign up for the ‘Orange Carpet Visa Facility’. This facility offers many advantages and above all speeds up the application procedure unfortunately not the process.
